How Much Caffeine is in Red Bull Zero?

Red Bull Zero, which was formerly called Total Zero, has 80mg of caffeine in the 8.4 fl oz can or 114mg in the 16 fl oz can.

Does Zero have less caffeine compared to the original? Unlike other brands which have a wide range of caffeine content across all of their flavors, Red Bull has stayed consistent across the board with the exception of their newer organics line.

Zero Sugar was previously called Total Zero but after a formula change which added a few calories the name was changed to Zero Sugar.

How Is Red Bull Zero Different Than Red Bull Sugar Free?

According to Red Bull both drinks are made from the same core ingredients. Red Bull states "Red Bull Zero and Red Bull Sugarfree contain the same main ingredients – caffeine, taurine and some B-group vitamins. Both are made without sugar, instead using different low calorie sweeteners. Red Bull Zero gives consumers the choice to enjoy a product with a different taste than Red Bull Sugarfree."

Red Bull Zero Sugar and Sugar free both contain the artificial sweetener aspartame but Red Bull Zero also contains sucralose and acesulfame K. Sucralose is Splenda for the non science nerds.

Red Bull Zero contains Guarana like all of the other Red Bull options.

Is Red Bull Zero Keto or Diet Friendly?

Based on the zero sugar claim and only 1.8 grams of net carbs, Red Bull Zero and Sugar Free fall into the Keto Friendly category. Well, Sort of. Both drinks are sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame k which have been linked to weight gain and increased appetite when consumed.

So while these energy drink options likely wont kick you out of ketosis, they would not be okay on a true clean keto diet.

How Does Red Bull Zero Compare to Coffee?

Coffee has only 2 calories when consumed black without cream or sugar and has zero sugars, carbs or artificial ingredients. The antioxidants found in coffee may balance out any benefits from the B vitamins found in Red Bull Energy Drinks.

An 8 oz cup of standard coffee will average 70-90mg of caffeine which means Red Bull is pretty similar in caffeine content.
